I spent last weekend on the West Coast of New Zealand, mainly in the tiny town of Punakaiki for a friend’s wedding (attending, not photographing). Even though it’s only about a 3 hour drive from Christchurch to the coast, my partner and I spent about 6 hours getting there as we kept stopping to take photographs along the way. Photographers can often be slow travellers!

Here’s one of my favourite shots from the weekend – a grab shot of my partner sitting on the jetty at Lake Brunner. I love the all-blue colour palate (he fortuitously happened to be wearing his blue checked shirt that day), and the late afternoon sunlight hitting him from camera right. Shot at 50mm on f1.8.
