What if my dog won’t sit still?
Most of the dogs you see in my photo gallery weren’t very good at sitting still either! If your dog is a bit zany it just means that the photo shoot will take a little longer and will require a bit more patience (something I always bring plenty of). It can help to do the photos at home where there are less distractions, or to keep your dog on a lead. I always recommend exercising your dog immediately prior to their photo session to take the edge off.
What if my dog hates having his/her photo taken?
No problem. Your dog is not expected to ‘perform’ in front of the camera and there are a number of ways we can get a great photo. I always endeavour to keep the process fun and stress-free for everyone – dogs included!
I live outside Christchurch – are you able to photograph my pet?
Yes. I travel to other areas by arrangement. I charge $45 per hour for car travel outside of Christchurch city.
I have a horse/cat/bunny/emu – do you do portraits of animals other than dogs?
Absolutely. While I have a particular fondness for dogs, I love ALL animals whether large or small, furry or feathered or scaly. If you have a pet that is special to you then I’d love to photograph it for you.
Are you able to include people in your photos?
Yes. Lots of people like to have a picture of themselves and/or their children with their special pet. I love creating photos that capture the unique human-animal bond, so if you’d like to be in the photo just let me know!
I have something specific in mind, can you do it for me?
It depends on what you have in mind, and how well-behaved and compliant your dog is, but I can certainly try to work towards an idea if you let me know BEFORE the shoot. For example, some clients ask for things like: ‘I want my dog on the Port Hills standing on some rocks and looking majestic’ or ‘I’d like a photo of my dog playing in the water’ or ‘I prefer an artistic black and white photo’. Other clients are happy to ‘play it by ear’ and let me provide the creative suggestions. It’s your choice.
