k9-photo-sessions-picPhoto sessions are done on location either at your residence or a suitable local park or outdoor area. Sessions include 1.5 to 2 hours of one-on-one time with your dog to capture a range of images.

The range and style of photos depends a lot on your dog and how easy they are to work with – the more calm and obedient the dog, the more options we’ll have.

Sessions aim to capture the natural character of your pet by being relaxed and enjoyable – and I always bring a healthy amount of patience with me!

K9 photo session tips

Dogs get excited by being photographed, so it’s helpful if they are a bit tired before the session begins. Take Fido for a walk or a short run shortly before your session.

If your dog has a favourite toy please bring it along – it can be helpful to hold their attention. Some folks like photos with their pet’s favourite toy in the picture.

Children and other family members are distracting to pets – please leave others at home unless you specifically want them in the photos.

If your dog tends to run amuck it may be necessary to keep it on a lead. This is no problem but please bear in mind that if you have a choice of leads to pick the most attractive one.

If you’d like to be in some photos with your dog please avoid wearing white or heavy patterns. Mid-to-dark-toned plain clothing is best. You will be asked to sit on the ground with your pet so please don’t wear your best designer outfit!
