Case study: Coffee Culture Lyttelton
This hugely popular cafe company wanted a special artwork for their premises in the iconic harbour town of Lyttelton, something that would reflect the unique local flavour of the township.
I created a huge black and white panorama of Lyttelton harbour, made of multiple images carefully stitched together, in which you can see just about every house in Lyttelton. Printed at over 2 metres wide, the panorama presents a unique view of this character-filled port town – the image really ‘jumps off the wall’ with its compressed perspective and amazing detail in the houses, streets and ships.
I also made a series of black and white images of details of Lyttelton town, as well as a recreation of a Lyttelton street scene originally photographed at the turn of the century.
Since installing the prints in the cafe, the manager has been inundated with positive comments from customers who love the pictures.
Copies of the panoramic Lyttelton Harbour image are for sale on paper or canvas at various sizes – see the Personal Work section for details.
